We’ve known each other professionally for over 20 years.
Our trust is mutual,
Our inspirations are often the same, our approaches sometimes different,
The exchange is permanent,
We each work in our own region, and meet frequently for customer meetings and, of course, events.
For our events agency, it is necessary to constantly re-invent ourselves, to “think outside the box” at the request of our customers due to :
- l’uniformaccelerating pace,
- standardization of products and services (companies are finding it difficult to differentiate themselves in the face of an overabundance of products, with both internal and external challenges).
- standardization of supply and demand (packages, tour operators, “googleization”),
- crisis of confidence (shifting national and international context),
- the dehumanization of relations with customers and suppliers (customers are “coded”, as are employees; relations are based on e-mail exchanges, with no real face-to-face encounters),
This observation and these values echo what we have always sensed in our respective careers, working alongside our customers.
Our events agency has always respected and applied these convictions in the design of our events, and it’s in a true spirit of “partnership” and “friendship” that we work with them in complete confidence.
What’s more – and this may come as a surprise to you – it’s because our convictions were shared by our customers that they wanted us to continue to support them in this vision.
In 2007, they were the ones who encouraged us to create the A la Carte Events customized event agency.
Thierry PIC
After graduating with a Master’s degree in International Business, Thierry took his first steps in event management at the Lucien Barrière Press Office in Cannes during the International Film Festival, where he met Monsieur Lucien Barrière.
In 1989, he created his first events agency, “Recevoir en Normandie”, opening the doors of private historic monuments to corporate events and photo reports for the international fashion press. After a spell with Christian Constant in Paris, he moved on to the Centre International de Deauville (CID), where he worked with Nathalie Garcia, now Director of Deauville Tourism.
Thierry PIC joined the team of a major Parisian business tourism agency as Account Manager, managing all types of events in the pharmaceutical, cosmetics and luxury sectors. It was here that he met Caroline Louzir, the other partner in the A la Carte Events agency.
Still passionate about his native Normandy, Thierry PIC relaunches “Recevoir en Normandie”, which quickly becomes Deauville’s essential incoming contact, with, among other things, a close partnership with Lucien Barrière Hotels.
A native of Normandy and based in the Pays d’Auge, 1h30 from Paris, this is naturally where A LA CARTE EVENTS, founded in 2007 with Caroline Louzir, is headquartered today.
Aware of the changing needs and ever-growing appeal of his Normandy region, he is constantly launching new concepts dedicated to the art of living in Normandy:
- in April 2007, a guest house 15 minutes from Deauville (www.viedecocagne-normandie.com)
- in october 2015, an atypical venue dedicated to board meetings and press shoots (www.atelierpic.com)
- in March 2016, a new tourist discovery concept aboard the latest Range Rover Vogue, specially designed for international customers
Caroline LOUZIR
After obtaining a Master’s degree in International Affairs and Chinese, Caroline LOUZIR spent a year in China.
Caroline took her first steps in business tourism in 1987 as an escort, before joining the team of a Parisian agency in 1989 as Account Manager for the pharmaceutical sector.
She now travels the world to organize and oversee the many events she organizes for her customers, with whom she forges special relationships: international congresses, national meetings, product launches and seminars…
In 1999, Caroline LOUZIR moved to the South-West of France, where she still lives today.
In 2007, she founded A la Carte Events with Thierry PIC, and since 2009 has been developing an incoming agency business in the South-West Occitanie region.
At the same time, Caroline trained in Chinese medicine. She opened her first book on Chinese medicine over 25 years ago, but life meant she had to put it aside.
Caroline reopened her practice 7 years ago, following a lengthy 2-year training course in shiatsu and 4 years in Chinese medicine (acupuncture, pharmacopoeia and moxibustion), with two clinic internships in Shanghai.
Since the beginning of 2016, Caroline has graduated and officially opened her practice under the name FO SHOU (Buddha’s hands, also the name of a Chinese pharmacopoeia)…
Another way of caring for others…
